Deborah, (Deb), has been a part of the dance community--on and off--for over 30 years and was a member of Dance Educators of America until 1990. She began teaching at her teacher’s studio in Wheeling, West Virginia when she was 14. There she assisted in ballet classes and taught baton twirling and acrobatics. At the age of 14 she also landed the role of Juliet in a local production of the Ballet, Romeo and Juliet. Performing this principal role inspired her to go on to dance in multiple summer theater productions, both professionally and non-professionally. Deborah has trained with Mary Elizabeth Fassig, Joe Tremaine, Paula Morgan, Kenneth Green, Brian Manning, Roni Mahler, Douglas Wassell and Gus Giordano and has served on dance faculties with Paula Morgan, Brian Manning and Kenneth Green.
Deb went on to own and direct her own studio, Concert Dance Conservatory, for a total of 27 years. She also served as Artistic Director for F.A.C.T.S. (Fine Arts Center for Talented Students) in Littleton, Colorado and taught ballet, tap, and jazz at Denver School of the Arts for two years. After closing Concert Dance Conservatory, Deborah continued to work as a dance instructor/choreographer at Aurora Dance Arts, Denver Contemporary Dance and Dance Movement. She has also taught master classes in tap and ballet in both Denver and Boulder. Deborah has trained dancers who have gone on to dance professionally on Broadway, in major companies in New York, Denver and Las Vegas and has instructed and mentored a number of students who have become dance instructors. Deborah is excited about the growth she is seeing at Northridge Dance Center and is very anxious to do all she can to help create dancers.
